The Elders (or pastors) are men who are called, tested, qualified, and appointed to serve, instruct, care for, and lead the church. They instruct the church in matters of doctrine, provide spiritual care for the church, guard the flock against false teaching, administer the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s supper, and equip the saints for the work of the ministry.
We believe that a team of elders (rather than a single pastor) is both biblical and practical. The elders of Trinity differ in experience and gifting—one or two may preach more frequently than others—but all are equal in authority and share the work of shepherding the church.
